STAR APPLE DISPUTE ENDS IN DEATH.........

A dispute between two Clarendon men over star apples has left one dead and two brothers in custody facing murder charges. One of the brothers has been admitted to hospital under police guard THE STAR understands.
The dead man has been identified as Milton Stanley, otherwise called 'Mark' or 'Papa', a 23-year-old fruit vendor of Top Alston, Clarendon. Those arrested are Dewain Malcolm, a 24-year-old labourer, and Sean Malcolm, 20, a construction worker both of Alston district in Spaldings, Clarendon. Dewain Malcolm has been admitted to hospital under police guard.
Allegations are that on Wednesday April 20, Stanley who operated a small fruit stall along the Alston main road, placed an order with Malcolm for some star apples to supply a customer. It is reported that Malcolm picked the fruits but turned up late causing the prospective customer to leave without them.

An argument
The police reported that Malcolm later got upset after trying to sell the fruits without success and allegedly told Stanley that he would have to pay for them. An argument reportedly developed between them during which Malcolm reportedly left.
It is alleged that later that same evening Stanley was at his home when he received a phone call that Malcolm had allegedly damaged his stall. He made a complaint to the Spaldings Police Station which was confirmed.
It is alleged that on April 23 about 12:30 p.m., Stanley was at his stall when he was attacked by both brothers. Both men reportedly used knives to inflict several stab wounds to Stanley's upper body killing him on the spot.
Both brothers were later arrested and taken into custody after Dewain turned up at the Percy Junior hospital for injuries he sustained to his hands during the incident. His brother turned himself into the police pending further investigations, which are being carried out by the Spaldings police.
