FLOW INTRODUCES 100MBPS INTERNET TO THE ISLAND.....

As part of Flows unwaveringly commitment to provide Jamaicans with the best service and most advanced technologies available, the broadband company announced that it will now offer up to 100Mbs to residential customers requiring this type of speed.

This is really an unprecedented move, said Michele English, Flows President and Chief Operating Officer.  Very few countries in the region offers this kind of speed and capacity to their residential customers, she said.   English was speaking at the VIP launch of Flows new 3,000 square feet flagship store at Fairview plaza, in Montego Bay on Friday October 15h.

Addressing a high level audience that comprised Montego Bays top business personalities, English stated that this moves comes as Flow continues to make good on its promise to introduce new broadband products and services in Jamaica that are on par, or even surpasses international best practices.  It also follows Flows recent FREE upgrade from internet speeds of 8 and 15 to 12Mbps and 20Mbps respectively to residential customers.

This move, really demonstrates the power of Flows Technology, said English. Describing the Companys US$250M infrastructure, English stated that, Unlike many other communications options on the island, Flows systems are designed to meet future demands with minimal adjustments to the existing infrastructure.  In addition, unlike wireless broadband providers of 3G, 4G and WiMax, Flow is not hindered by the capacity and speed issues.  Our network allows us to offer the fastest, highest capacity accompanied by the ability to offer these services at the best prices. Our network, offers unprecedented capacity, resilience, redundancy and reliability for broadband data communications.  Through it we will continue to lead the market in terms of innovation and new products.

Also addressing the issue of wireless solutions, English told the audience that in recent times, we have been bombarded with messages about the wireless technologies, and we certainly appreciate the need for mobility, particularly within the workplace and home.  She noted that Flow has been offering wireless or WiFi connections for its blazing speed internet since we launched some four years ago.  With our Flow Unplugged offering, we can now not only offer WiFi outside of the home, but more importantly, at consistent speeds that is only possible with a true, fibre-optic broadband technology

This move has cemented Flows position as an industry leader where the broadband company continues to offer service that places Jamaica as leader in the region and makes the island an even more attractive business destination.  For local customers, the opportunities for development and innovation and cost savings have been significant.  Since Flows entry into the Jamaican market, Flow has driven down the prices of internet by as much as 80% in some cases, while at the same time, offering customers more bandwidth than was available on the market at much lower costs.

We look forward to working with the Jamaican people to use this technology to continue to deliver first rate innovation on the island.  With Flow and Jamaica, only great things can happen, she said.
