SCHOOL DENIES STUDENTS ARE OBEAH VICTIMS.....

Rumours that a group of grade-six students from a primary school in St Catherine had become erratic after they fell victim to an obeah spell last week have since been denied by the institution's administration.

"Grade-Six pickney dem mussi seh the parents rub dem up with oil and give dem pencils and a bare duppy a run wild in the school and students and teachers getting sick," was one comment posted about the apparent incident on social networking site Facebook, recently.

Another user posted, "Dem have meeting about it man. A nuff foolishness a gwan up dere man,".

However, when THE WEEKEND STAR contacted the school's vice-principal she laughed and quickly dismissed such rumours as untrue.

She later explained that the behaviour of the grade-six students on the day might have been misinterpreted as them being influenced by obeah because the students were overly excited about their GSAT examinations.

" Is where you hear that?" she commented as she laughed.

MD Entertainment recording artiste Beenie Man is almost fully recovered from the hip surgery operation he did a few months ago.

"The doctors say that he is recovering well and he has one more observation visit this week, and then we will get the official go ahead. He will be performing on April 23 at the National Stadium in Guyana. Afterwards it's on to Barbados and then St Maarten," Beenie Man's manager, Blue, said.

Several tickets have already been sold for the Colouring Book Party that was expected to take place at Lime Village in Portmore this Saturday April 16.

Organizers say persons who have already bought tickets will be refunded. They are being encouraged to return the tickets to their original place of purchase.
