KARTEL TO SUE THE STATE FOR LOSS OF INCOME!

Sources close to the Portmore Empire say that legal action for loss of income could be an option for Vybz Kartel who was the main headline act of the Colouring Book concert which was cancelled at the 11th hour by cops over the weekend.

“We don’t know what the agenda was behind the cancellation, but the deejay says he will be claiming in civil court for loss of income,” a source told one876ent

Vybz Kartel has a somewhat acrimonious relationship with the police force, and late last year, took to the airwaves after the cops invaded The Building nightclub in a ‘sting operation’ on Boxing Day but found nothing incriminating.

And two years ago, at the height of the Gaza-Gully friction, several promoters of dances which sought to use him as a headline act could not receive permits from the police.

GANG BOSS TESHA MILLER GETS 15 YRS....

KLANSMAN gang leader Tesha Miller was yesterday convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison in what Police Commissioner Owen Ellington described as a victory for law and order.

The decision in Miller’s case was handed down at about the same time that the police scored another big win in its fight against crime with the recapture of Nicholas Nesbeth, also known as ‘Fire Key’, in Craig Town, Kingston.

Police said that Nesbeth was captured along with two other men — one of whom has been identified as wanted for a number of murders in the Kingston Western Division. The other man captured is Ricardo Jones, the brother of Christopher Linton, also known as ‘Dog Paw’.

DESPITE languishing in the Pinellas County Jail in Florida almost two months after being convicted on drug charges, Reggae star Buju Banton is said to still be in high spirits and is keeping his fingers crossed that he will be able to walk free.

The artiste was found guilty by a 12-member panel of jurors, during a second drug trial in Tampa, Florida in February, of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute five or more kilogrammes of cocaine, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offence, and using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offense.
